Mirza Baig is now a certified Level 5 Energy Assessor
We are delighted to announced that Mirza Baig has passed the IES exam on his first attempt and achieved Level 5 Energy Assessor certification. The Level 5 certification enables Mirza to carry out Level 5 EPC assessments to buildings with complex systems to produce an accurate picture of their energy efficiency.

A Level 5 EPC requires a highly detailed on-site survey to take place, with the information gathered processed using Dynamic Simulation Modelling (DSM) software. It is mandatory if the building has complex systems such as ventilation with enhanced thermal coupling, significant renewable energy systems, automatic blind control, lightwells or a substantial glass atria and/or a high degree of glass walling.
DSM is an extremely accurate tool for assessing the environmental performance of a building, it is more commonly used for analysis of non-domestic schemes, such as mixed-use developments or commercial property. DSM allows us to provide much more accurate analysis than is possible with standard Part L energy assessment tools such as SAP and SBEM.
Mirza has achieved this certification with the full support of the business. It is the culmination of many years of practice with IES-VE and experience gained working alongside our MEP Building Services team. With Mirza’s certification now in place, our Sustainability team will now offer Level 5 EPC assessments on a nationwide basis.
